What is NEST?

NEST (“Nurturing Education for Students and Teachers”) is the parent-teacher organization at Shining Rock.  In addition to serving as the conduit for collaboration between parents and faculty, the volunteer-run organization is dedicated to enriching the teaching and learning experience at the school through the support of the school’s dedication to equity for all students.

NEST uses its fundraising efforts to support uniform assistance and school lunch assistance for families with a financial need as well as healthy snacks and classroom supplies school wide. NEST’s team of volunteers organize many school spirit events, school dances, and outreach opportunities.

If you would like to become more involved with the school, please consider joining NEST.  The organization meets at Shining Rock the second Thursday of every month.
